Exercise during Ramadan Fasting

Ramadan fasting has always been considered a challenging period for exercise, performance and recovery.

Research have shown that exercise heart rate, blood lactate and ratings of perceived exertion to be higher when exercising during the Ramadan Fasting state compared to exercising during the non-fasting state.

As such, caution and modification during this period is necessary to not only reduce risks of injury during exercise, but also to potentially maximize recovery and performance while exercising or competing in the Ramadan period.
